JF then went to work on the sell-side (TD Securities, Scotia Capital and Citibank) where he developed the derivative products market for the institutional Quebec clientele including financial institutions, corporate treasuries and institutional investors. JF was named on the Board of Mediagrif Interactive Technologies (TSX: MDF) in September 2008.

Ivan Maksymyk, Ph.D.
Chief Analyst

Ivan Maksymyk joined our team in November 2010.  Working closely with our institutional and investor clients, he participates as Lead Analyst in the development of new analytical tools for the FinlogiK product offering.  He is involved in the modeling of derivatives, and in the conception of modules for portfolio optimization, interest rate risk management, automation of controls for compliance and other areas.

From 2000 to 2009, he worked in product management at StockerYale, a manufacturer in the photonics sector.  Ivan has thus brought to our team his broad experience in the development of specialized technical solutions.

As a doctoral and postdoctoral researcher in theoretical quantum physics (from 1990 to 2000), Ivan examined possible extensions of the standard model of interactions of elementary particles.  He also studied the phenomenology of sypersymmetric string theory and heavy hadron interactions.  At FinlogiK, he puts to practice his knowledge in mathematical modeling to expand the analytic tools available in our software.

Ivan obtained a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and a bachelor’s degree in French from The University of Western Ontario, and a master’s degree (optics) and a doctorate (theoretical physics) from l’Université de Montréal.  He has passed all three exams of the CFA® (Chartered Financial Analyst) program.
